Dear Parents / Carers
This Week – We looked at the Hindu festival of Holi. After learning about the festival, we used coloured rice and pasta to create colourful patterns. We also completed some Holi themed colouring sheets by gluing on rice, using paint, and felt tip pens. We also made use of the snow using Arctic animals to create snow themed sensory play.
Monday – Activity of choice – The children were able to decide on their own activities today. We had out the watercolour paints and used these to create our own art or colour in patterns.
Tuesday – Gaming & Forest School – We had a fire outside and used this to toast bagels on. The bagels were delicious and enjoyed by everyone.
Wednesday – Movie & Animation – We watched the film Snow Dogs which was rather appropriate with the weather this week. Some children then had a go at animating using the dinosaurs. They are enjoying the new app and are making improvements each week.
Thursday – Craft & Gaming –We used socks and pieces of fabric to tie-dye by scrunching, knotting, and using elastic bands to create different effects. material using elastic bands and knots to create different effects.
Friday – Baking – Later today we will be we will be macaroni cheese using the BBC Good Food recipe; the children will be weighing and measuring their ingredients.

Next Week – Here are some of our planned activities for next week.
Monday – Assortment of activities – Children’s choice of activity.
Tuesday – Gaming & Forest School – We will be making salt dough and then the children can imprint their dinosaur, or design of their choice, the children can hunt for objects from the forest school area and garden to imprint into the salt dough.
Wednesday – Movie & Animation – The children will be watching the Lego Movie and our animators will continue how to use the features in the app to improve their films.
Thursday – Craft & Gaming – We will be making our own slime using PVA glue, contact lens solution and colouring.
Friday – Baking – We will be making a rustic soda bread with treacle and honey to celebrate St Patricks Day.
