Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have been busy concentrating on our balancing on the obstacle course, moving in different directions. We read Handa’s Surprise and worked as a team creating a fruit salad, trying new fruits, and building our knife skills cutting the fruit up. We have been building on our fine motor skills; the children loved drawing and sticking on a picture which was vertical.
Forest School – In Forest school this week we talked about how all the leaves have from fallen from the trees and how they decompose into the ground. We also found some mushrooms growing on the floor and we used magnifying glasses to look at the different patterns. We read the wonderful Story of the Leaf Man where all the illustrations are made up of leaves. They used a variety of different sizes creating birds, a person, and fish.
Playhouse Activities Next Week – We will do activities linked to Handa’s Surprise the children loved the story and were very curious about some of the tropical fruits. We will be trying passion fruit, avocado and a few more tropical fruits.
