Rapid Covid-19 Home Testing Kits – These kits are now available to all households with school-age children. Please see the attached flyer for more information on how to obtain the kits.
Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have been planting sunflowers and we have enjoyed learning about springtime! The children have started looking at lifecycles, especially the frog lifecycle. We also created lambs using cotton wool. We have enjoyed colour mixing; the children have been very interested in this!
Forest School – In Forest school this week we read Peely Wally and talked about the eggs. We then went on an egg-cellent shape and number hunt. The children sorted and matched their egg treasures. We also talked about new beginnings and new plants. We spotted a caterpillar and talked about lifecycles too. The children created a springtime collage, they were beautiful!
Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week we will have Easter inspired activities and we will carry on with our spring theme. We are going to be working on the rules of preschool and caring about other people’s and children’s feelings. We will have activities for the children to share their own feelings too.
World Downs Syndrome Day – Sunday 21st March – World Down Syndrome Day is a global awareness event…and we need you to help spread the word in your part of the world. Next week we would love to see everybody wearing odd socks… all week! As we will be raising awareness of Down’s syndrome! We will enjoy activities to support this and create blue and yellow handprints to unite us together! The children are also welcome to come in to preschool wearing blue and yellow clothes which supports the colours of the Down’s syndrome ribbon.
Please make sure you take pictures and videos and post them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtags #LotsOfSocks, #WorldDownSyndromeDay and #WDSD20…we look forward to seeing and sharing everyone’s #LotsOfSocks pictures! We would love to see you and your child’s lots of socks on tapestry and via our social media too… please take photos so we can share some photos!

Monthly Makaton Sign – Just a reminder, we are going to have a monthly Makaton sign to learn. Here is our top tip .. Remember to sign and say the word together. Go slow and show. This month we are going to learn: Mummy & Daddy
Sound of the Week – Our sound of the Week will be ‘r’. We will use resources from the playhouse as we are not yet able to accept items from home.
Grass Near the Playhouse Gates – Just a reminder to please keep your child off the grass near the Playhouse gates and keep them on the path as you are waiting for your child to enter the Playhouse. The school and Playhouse staff are concerned for their safety as this is not a safe area for children to play: there are rocks, bins, tyres in this area which could cause injury.
