Dear Parents / Carers

Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have been reading the story of Handas Surprise which the children are really interested in and enjoying! They enjoyed tasting a variety of exotic fruits which they were great at trying! They tried mango, passion fruit, avocado, oranges  . The children also enjoyed looking at the ICT globe and they found Africa to extend our wonderful story of Handa’s surprise!   . This week some of the children also enjoyed using the ICT camera taking many photos, some very funny poses and they also took some fantastic pictures of the ice we found outside in our garden  .

The children have been busy investigating and exploring all the amazing ice we have outside, they have been looking at all the different shapes and sizes, patterns we could find in the ice. We enjoyed sharing how ice melts and how ice is formed    . They really enjoyed playing with the ice and smashing it too, they tried to make it even smaller!

Forest School – In Forest school this week we read Don’t Wake the Bear, Hare. We talked about hibernation and the different animals who hibernate as it gets cold. We looked and explored different textures and the children made their own bark rubbings. They explored bumpy and smooth surfaces. They collected and touched lots of objects with different surfaces too, sticks, pebbles, moss, and pinecones.
