Playhouse Activities This Week
This week we have continued with our Jack & The Beanstalk theme .. we’ve created some fantastic castles to add to our bean stalks. The beans are sprouting, and the children are observing them growing everyday.

Forest School – The children remembered looking for signs of spring, the flowers, ladybirds, buds and warm sun. They each looked closely at daffodils; they counted the petals, they looked inside, and we talked about how bees collect the pollen. We know that flowers each have their own smell, so we decided to make our own springtime tea. Using the flowers and the herbal tea the children explored their senses. They also measured how much the daffodils had grown. We used measuring tapes so they could explore the length and girth of flowers, sticks and logs. There was some great sharing and teamwork.

Playhouse Activities Next Week – We will be mud painting and we will be creating our own magic beans. We will also be creating something special for Sunday.

Reminder – Cold Weather – It’s still very cold & we like to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. Please can you make sure your child has a warm coat, hat and especially gloves. We’ve had lots of chilly hands this week. Thank you.

Any help? – Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you need any support, ideas or just a chat we are always available.

Monthly Makaton Sign – Just a reminder, we are going to have a monthly Makaton sign to learn. Here is our top tip .. Remember to sign and say the word together. Go slow and show. This month we are going to learn: Mummy & Daddy

Sound of the Week – Our sound of the Week will be ‘e’. We will use resources from the playhouse as we are not yet able to accept items from home.

Can you Help? Fundraising Matching Schemes – This is a really difficult time for all charities as we can’t carry our out normal fundraising events but, we are thinking about what we can do at this time.  Does your employer take part in a Fundraising matching scheme? If they do and you are happy to approach your manager, boss, team leader, please can you get in touch with us, we would love to hear from you.

Springtime Fun Activities – It’s not too late to register for our Springtime Fun Activities. If you would like your child to join in, please let us know and make your payment into our bank account with the Reference: Fun (surname).

Have a lovely weekend! Stay safe and well!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
