Dear Parents / Carers

Please find below this week’s Weekly Update. We hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Playhouse Re-opening – Please look out for additional communications concerning the reopening of the Playhouse. Things will be a little different when you and return but, we’ll keep you posted on our progress! Lucy will be in touch soon to confirm your child’s place & sessions.

Nature Activities – Amanda has planned some fun outdoor activities for you to share with your child. This week for Forest School the focus is painting, whether it’s with water or mud. Amanda has included photos of natural brushes the children can use, like rosemary, leaves and conifer. She’s also shown you how to make mud paint. There are other tips and hints on making different paints (chalk and spices) and you can make your own pictures on the floor, outside wall or paper! All the information you need will be on Tapestry.

Invoices – With this term being a little different we will only invoice you for the sessions that your child attends. Invoices will be issued later on this term. For those children who receive the 15 hours government funding and the Additional hours funding, your sessions will be covered using your funded hours, as per normal circumstances and guidelines.

Mental Health Awareness Week – BBC Children in Need have launched A Million & Me to support Mental Health Awareness Week. The campaign is all about supporting children and young people with their mental health and wellbeing. Through careful and dedicated work, they aim to build support amongst families and communities, resolving and managing issues where possible without clinical intervention. This has never been so important. From virtual cooking sessions and activity packs, to dedicated support via online and text services, right now, they are continuing to support children at home, to make sure that they have access to the help they need, when, where and how they want it. You can see some of the fantastic and creative ways their funded charities are adapting. Please go to: https://www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/changing-lives/covid-19-resources/ If you need help Every Mind Matters, is a useful site to visit and they have lots of help and advice: https://www.nhs.uk/oneyou/every-mind-matters/

Child Safety Week – The Child Accident Prevention Trust runs Child Safety Week each year and this year in response to COVID-19, they’re changing what they do. To meet the changing needs of families they’ve adapted their Parents’ Pack, so it helps you take on child safety and win, even when you are feeling under pressure. Keep an eye on Tapestry, we will be adding new activities on here for you to access! We would love to see and hear how you are all keeping, especially if you are talking part in any of our activities.

Have a lovely half term, stay safe and well!
Kind regards
