We share characteristics with Leicester and other areas where community transmission is higher, so the Early Years team and the City council are taking proactive steps now because no-one wants to return to a stricter lockdown. Please remember to follow public health advice – hand washing, social distancing, wearing face coverings where this is not possible, isolating if you have symptoms and taking a test.
There is a lot of household to household transmission in Peterborough, so just to confirm:
· A household is a group of people who live under the same roof all the time.
· Only two households can meet together indoors and even then, they must social distance.
· Only two households (of any size) or six people from different households – can meet outdoors – again socially distanced.
Testing will be even more accessible in Peterborough with more mobile sites becoming available in addition to the drive-through site at the showground and the Early Years Team will shortly be publicising where these are. We have attached ‘The Keep Caring Toolkit’ this has been developed to support the Keep Caring for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough campaign which launched last week and a poster to remind you of the importance of understanding and following the test and trace procedure.
Please feel free to share this information, the more people we can reach with these messages, the safer it will be for everyone and the easier it will be to reduce transmission rates in Peterborough.
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
