Dear Parents / Carers

Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have been doing lots of Easter activities, decorating Easter eggs was especially popular! We created Easter wreaths, and we painted Easter bunnies! We have been learning about the season of spring and creating lots of beautiful flowers and bees for our spring display board which will continue to evolve next term! We have also been busy learning all about the frog lifecycle and the children have been building on their scissor skills cutting around the pictures to put them into the right order of how they grow and change. .

Forest School – The children loved listening to a story and looking at pictures all about springtime! They listened attentively. We went around the garden on a “Spring hunt” looking for signs of spring.
The children noticed daffodils, different types of flowers, they heard birds, they even noticed a nest in the tree!! We noticed different plants growing. They especially enjoyed looking at the Daffodil bulbs we planted and seeing how much they had grown. We spoke about the weather during spring and all the changes such as animals being born & growing. They were very kind and gentle, some of them holding ladybirds and other bugs we found.

Playhouse Activities Next term – When we come back: we will be learning all about different lifecycles starting with the ladybird lifecycle!   we will be baking jam and lemon tarts which some of the children have asked to bake!   We will learn the rhyme of The Queens of Hearts nursery rhyme to match our baking   .
