A week full of learning, growing and new adventures!
This week at the Playhouse!
Sandwich Making – We have been learning to make our own sandwiches, practising spreading and cutting safely. This helps develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, independence and confidence.
Planting & Growing – The children have been planting bulbs and learning what plants need to grow. We have also received some wonderful photos of the children’s sunflowers growing so tall – well done everyone!
Willow the Teddy – Over the coming year, Willow will visit each child’s home. She helps us talk about why we brush our teeth, how we care for them and why good sleep is important. When Willow visits, please take a photo of her enjoying her adventure and upload it to Tapestry. We will create a special wall of Willow’s Adventures for the children to enjoy!
The Three Billy Goats Gruff – We have enjoyed joining in with the repeated phrases and exploring size — small, medium and large. This supports language, listening, confidence and early mathematical thinking.
TRY THIS AT HOME – Find three objects that are different sizes, such as toys, teddies or spoons. Can your child put them in order from smallest to biggest? Talk about big, small, bigger, smaller, tallest and shortest. If you try our home-learning activity, please send a photo to us on Tapestry – we’d love to see what you’ve been doing at home and share the children’s experiences with their friends!
More Adventures Next Week!
Thank you for your continued support. We can’t wait for another week of fun, learning and exploring together!
Sound/ Letter of the Week: ‘C/c’
Makaton Sign of the Week – Our Makaton sign of the week will be ‘please’.
We hope you have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to seeing you all next week!
Warm wishes
