Helpston Playhouse – Weekly Update 27th January 2023

Dear Parents / Carers

Playhouse Activities This Week –
The ice has been fantastic this week. We froze water with lots of animals. The children loved trying to chip through the ice to get to the animals. We have been learning about Chinese New Year  about why they celebrate and it’s the year of the Rabbit. We created a Chinese Temple using wooden blocks. We’ve also made Chinese lanterns; this was great practice for our scissor skills.

Forest School – In Forest school this week we have been busy planting daffodil bulbs!
The children took part in the whole process and planted their own individual bulb! They added soil into the pot, then the bulb, adding more soil to make it secure in the pot. They poured water onto the bulb to help it to grow. We have shared how the Daffodil will come out in the Springtime, as the weather becomes warmer, and how they don’t come out in the Wintertime when it is cold and frosty.
We can’t wait to see them grow. We are going to be planting more all around our garden too as the children have all been so interested and keen to plant a bulb this week!

Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week we will be looking at winter and the effects it has on our environment. On Wednesday we will be having a fire and hot chocolate. Richard will be joining us on Wednesday for Roarstars.

Clothing – Please remember to bring in hat and gloves for your child. Please can you return any clothes we have lent you. Many thanks.

Change in Circumstances – If any of your personal or family circumstances change, please don’t hesitate to let us know so that we can help and support your child.

Any help? – Please do not hesitate to speak to staff if you have any concerns or would just like a catch up, we are always available.

Have a lovely weekend.
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
