This Week – Christmas arrived in the OOSC this week. The children have been decorating the Christmas tree, Christmas colouring and wrapping presents. We’ve also had our usual games and resources out for the children to play with.

Monday – Craft Club – We started our Christmas craft; we made wooden decorations from discs cut from wood. The children decorated with pens, glitter and added to ribbon to hang on the tree.
Tuesday – Science Society – Science took on a Christmas theme as we used candy canes to make a marble run. Chocolate Christmas puddings were used as marbles. The children had great fun!
Wednesday – Animation – Our animators made a film with an underwater theme. Well done, Anya for your film.
Wednesday – Cinema Club – The children enjoyed watching Elf, whilst our KS2 children watched The Nativity whilst enjoying their popcorn.
Thursday – Forest school & Den building – The children enjoyed their forest school activity this week, they will be cut wood to size, sanded it and decorated it to make their very own Santa. A lovely keepsake.
Friday – Baking –
Later today we will be making reindeer faces to stay with our festive theme. We will be using cake and chocolate to create our reindeer head (like a cake pop) and we will be adding pretzels and sweets to make our reindeer face come to life.

Next week – Here are some of our planned activities for next week in the OOSC.

Monday – Craft Club – We will be decorating pinecones with paint or glue and adding glitter and small decorations to make them festive.
Tuesday – Science Society – Our Christmas themed science activities will continue as we use lolly sticks to make snowball catapults.
Wednesday – Animation & Cinema Club – In our movie club, the children will be watching Paw Patrol – Pups Save Christmas and our older children can decide if they would like to watch a different movie. Our animators will decide what they would like to use for their film making.
Thursday – Forest school & Den Building and KS2 Gaming – We will be lighting the fire and cooking marshmallows outside. We will be singing some Christmas songs round the campfire.
Friday – Cookery club – We will be making stained glass window biscuits using boiled sweets. The children can hang them on their Christmas tree if they last that long.

Have a lovely weekend!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
