Playhouse Activities This Week – It has been amazing for the children to watch the chicks hatch out of their eggs this week. They have been captivated by the small cracks that appear and they patiently watch them slowly enter the world. Richard came to visit on Wednesday and his message to the children was ‘practice makes perfect, and it doesn’t matter if I can’t do it, just keep practicing; This really supported the children’s wellbeing and confidence. We have been practising our phonics sounds and linking letters. The children have been thinking of words that connect.
There were some fantastic costumes on World Book Day. The children loved to share what their favourite story was, and we all admired each other’s costumes. We enjoyed some delicious pancakes with lemon and chocolate on Tuesday. We also did some pancake tossing and races. Amanda ended up with a pancake on her head which the children found so funny!!
Forest School – In Forest School the children have explored nature inspired pancakes. They started with a cornflour mixture, then added mud for chocolate. They scooped, poured, and counted their spoonful’s. They all had wooden discs to spread their chocolate mixture onto and then pinched sprinkles on top. They were all different and looked wonderful!
Playhouse Activities Next Week – This week the children be caring for the chicks and having cuddles. We will be looking at the chicks’ changes over the week. We will be doing some gardening, planting seeds, and moving some of our plants into different spots around the garden.
Playhouse clothes – Could you please check if you have any preschool clothes. We have low levels of spare clothes, especially girls’ clothes. Thank you.
Photograph Frames – Do you have any old photograph frames you no longer need? If you do, please can you bring them in, we need them for our ‘Family Photo’s’ display. Any size, any colour, we really don’t mind! Thank you.
