Dear Parents / Carers

COVID Update:
Here is the link to the latest Government Guidance for Early Years settings: What parents and carers need to know about early years providers, schools and colleges during COVID-19 – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Playhouse Activities This Week –
We have a lovely new xylophone for our garden, so we have been creating some lovely harmonious sounds! The smells have been amazing with our baking, the children loved making their cupcakes. We have learnt about where the ingredients come from, and we’ve been working hard on our weighing and stirring. This is the Year of the Tiger. We tried chopsticks with noodles. We read the story of the Chinese New Year and how the animals were chosen. The lanterns are beautiful with fantastic scissor skills. The Chinese dragon looked amazing with some very unique creations.

Forest School – In Forest school this week we have explored the wind. We talked about the different weather and how it feels. We watched how the scarves and ribbons moved as the wind blew. We explored the garden to see which area was the windiest. The children then used the wind to blow bubbles. They moved really fast and went really high. We had lots of bubbles popping too. The children decided windy weather was fun!

Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week we will be thinking about building creations around the world and looking at famous landmarks. We’ll be looking at the Olympics in China. We’ll be thinking about textures and sounds and we’ll play a touching and feeling game using a blindfold.

Any help? – Please do not hesitate to speak to staff if you have any concerns or would just like a catch up, we are always available.

Have a lovely weekend!

Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
