Dear Parents / Carers

COVID Update:
Here is the link to the latest Government Guidance for Early Years settings: What parents and carers need to know about early years providers, schools and colleges during COVID-19 – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Playhouse Activities This Week – At the beginning of this week we came back to very windy weather, the children experienced using ribbons in the wind to see how fast it was going and which direction the wind was blowing in from! We have enjoyed reading our topic book Spinderella, we created spider pictures and have also been using the story to build on counting and number recognition! On Wednesday we enjoyed sport with Richard from Roar stars which the physical games were around the story of The Gruffalo! And on Friday we enjoyed dance with Poppy again! The children danced to the music from the new film Encanto, the children loved it and found it very funny!

Forest School – In Forest School this week we read Spinderella. Using clay and natural resources such as sticks, conkers, wooden discs, corks, lids, the children made their own creations. They started making spiders and bugs, counting their legs and eyes. The children then started to make a hovercraft, rocket, flower, birthday cake .. their imagination was amazing!

Playhouse Activities Next Week – We are so excited to have Happy Chicks back, they will arrive on Tuesday. The children will have the experience of watching the life cycle of the chick from hatching through to developing their feathers. It is such an amazing thing for them to experience! Also, on Tuesday we will have a Pancake race, and, in the afternoon, we will enjoy some tasty pancakes. Thursday is World Book Day; the children can dress up as their favourite character to celebrate the magical world of books. Please see the link for free audiobooks on Worldbookday.com, it’s a nice way to relax before bedtime. There’s Chatterbox Bear, Finney’s story and much more.

Children’s Bags – As you might be aware we do not have a great deal of space in our cloakroom. Please can you ensure that your child has a small drawstring bag. We do have Playhouse bags available if you need one. Having a large bag will result in the children next to your child having insufficient space for their coat and bag. Thank you for your help.

Playhouse Gate – Please press the buzzer at the Playhouse gates so that we can let you in. We can’t open the gate unless the buzzer is pressed and activated. Please can you update anyone who collects your child. Many thanks.

Any help? – Please do not hesitate to speak to staff if you have any concerns or would just like a catch up, we are always available.

Term dates – Please don’t hesitate to email Sam if you would like the term dates for 2021 – 2022 and 2022 – 2023.

The Gruffalo – Just a reminder to confirm your child’s space for the Gruffalo theatre trip by Monday 28th February. We will be unable to accommodate any requests after this date, many thanks.

Have a lovely weekend!

Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
