This Week – It’s been another busy week in the OOSC!
Monday – Woodwork & Construction – We sanded and decorated wooden blocks to make coasters. There were some great designs, especially the two-sided cow design by Grace!
Tuesday – Science Society – We made parachutes using plastic and fabric in different shapes and sizes as we investigated air resistance. We had fun dropping them from the climbing frame and we watched to see which one took the longest to fall.
Wednesday – Gardening & Forest School – We tidied and weeded the garden. We planted more flowers and vegetables this week: runner beans, carrots, sweetcorn, cosmos, and sunflowers.
Thursday – Den Building – The children decided they would like to build a fort this week, so we postponed our ‘Camping’ theme. They made themselves a secret entrance! We also made a refreshing drink using lemons and water.
Thursday – Craft Club – We continued making our fabric flowers. Our KS1 children were amazing at sewing and really persevered went things went awry. They created some beautiful flowers!
Friday – Baking – This afternoon will be making apple crumble!

Next Week – We will have a lot of Jubilee activities including crowns, flags, colouring, and traditional games!
Monday – Woodwork & Construction – We will continue making our coasters and finishing off the remaining bird boxes.
Tuesday – Science Society – We will be using wax and fats to create secret drawings and messages as we investigate water resistance.
Wednesday – Gardening & Forest School – We will continue to care for and add plants in the garden.
Thursday – Den Building – We will continue work on our fort.
Thursday – Craft Club – We will be using wool to cover and decorate cardboard letters.
Friday – Baking – We will be making an Afternoon tea to celebrate the Jubilee. We’ll be making sandwiches; sausage rolls, and we’ll be cake decorating.
Outside activities all week: There will be connect 4, giant Duplo, the mud kitchen, construction vehicles, football, and Meccano.
