Playhouse Activities This Week – This week was Road Safety week and we have had many activities about road safety. We have been talking about how to cross the road safely! We have enjoyed playing with cars and vehicles, they had numbers on the cars and the children matched them to a numbered car park! We have been building on the children’s cutting skills and have been cutting around different vehicle sheets and very tough lettuce! We have loved playing the traffic light game! We took part in some woodwork activities!

Forest School – Today in forest school we talked about the weather and how it’s cold. We talked about how to look after the animals, insects and birds, feeding them, finding them homes and hibernation. We also made cheerio Christmas wreaths to feed the birds. Then we collected lots and lots of leaves to make an autumn leaf wreath, we compared the size and colour. We read One Dark Night with Ned the Hedgehog.

Playhouse Activities Next Week – The children have really enjoyed the story of the Three Little Pigs and we will continue this next week! The children have loved The Gingerbread Man and have been showing a lot of interest in this story too! We have decided to enjoy activities around both stories next week. The children have asked to bake gingerbread men too!

Reminder: Christmas Carols – These will be on the 16th December 10:00 via Zoom. We would still like to enjoy some of the activities we carry out at Christmas, but they will just be a little different this year. If you would like to join us virtually please let us know by email by the 9th December 2020.

Sound of the Week – Our sound of the Week will be ‘m’. We will use resources from the playhouse as we are not yet able to accept items from home.

Updated Policies – With the current pandemic we are regularly updating our procedures in line with Government guidelines. Please go to http://helpstonplayhouse.org.uk/covid-19-policy/ to see our latest procedures and protective measures.

Have a lovely weekend and stay safe.
Kind regards
