This Week – We’ve had lots of Christmas themed activities this week – we’ve been Christmas wrapping, we’ve made ‘snow’, designed a Wintry train track, paper snowflakes, and seasonal sensory rice play. The children also made bead bracelets in seasonal red and green colours.
Monday – Craft Club – We decorated pinecones with paint, glue, glitter, and small decorations. The pinecones looked amazing and very festive.
Tuesday – Science Society – We used lolly stick and elastic bands to make catapults. We then used these to launch cotton wool ‘snowballs’. Thankfully the snowballs were so soft there were no serious injuries.
Wednesday – Animation – We prepared lots of christmas resources for our animators this week but they decided to take part with other OOSC christmas activities instead.
Wednesday – Cinema Club – The children enjoyed watching Paw Patrol – Pups Save Christmas, whilst enjoying their popcorn.
Thursday – Forest school & Den building – The children lit the fire. It was really nice and cosy, and the children enjoyed hot chocolate and biscuits as the temperature outside dropped. We sang some Christmas songs.
Friday – Baking – Later today we will be making stained glass window biscuits using boiled sweets. The children will be weighing their ingredients, they will cut their boiled sweets. When the biscuits cool, we will add ribbon to hang on their Christmas tree .. if they last that long.
