Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have been working hard on our Christmas songs. Thank you so much for practising, it is definitely paying off. The large waffles have been a particular favourite this week. We have created a textured collage and we have been thinking about different words we use. Our new Christmas books are helping us get into the Christmas spirit. We hope to have our Christmas decorations up next week. There have been some fantastic skills with woodwork, the pictures show how much concentration is being used.
Forest School – In Forest School we read The Gruffalo and the children joined in with the story repeating the key phrases. The children went on a leaf hunt, counting and comparing sizes, and then threaded the leaves onto pipe cleaners to make a leaf wreath. The children used the geo boards to thread and weave wool. The hedgehog got a scarf and some children made pictures of a house, star, and a snake from the story.
Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week we will be making cheese straws. We will be using our large painting rollers. We will also be creating our very own dinosaur swamp scene; we’ll have a variety of dinosaurs, sand, water and washing up liquid to create our swamp. Richard from Roarstars will be joining us on Wednesday for his amazing exercise sessions. We will experiment with movement, and we’ll look at how different animals move.
Christmas Cards – Do you need a Christmas card name list? If yes, please help yourself to one on the side. Please help yourself or ask a staff member. Friday 16th December will be our last posting day at the Playhouse.
