Dear Parents / Carers
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Testing for COVID – If your child goes for a COVID test, please don’t forget to let us know. We need to report any cases to our Early Years Team for Track & Trace purposes and where required, we will notify parents, carers and staff if they need to self-isolate. This is really important to ensure that we can keep each other, our families and our staff safe. Thank you.

Playhouse Activities This Week – Welcome back! This week we have been on pirate adventures and found treasure, we’ve been creating treasure maps. We have been investigating the ice, textures, melting and how it is created. The children have been excited with their bulbs popping through and we are looking forward to seeing the daffodils.
Forest School – This week for Forest school there will be a planned activity going live this afternoon. It’s all about enjoying the cold weather; looking for sparkles and patterns in the frost and ice. Maybe the children could create their own ice puddles with treasures in them.
Well being – Please remember to tell us any important information about your child, for example: how your child has slept, if they have had a difficult night as this can really impact their day. With everything that is happening at the moment you child might be struggling emotionally, please let us know if you have noticed any changes so we can ensure we can we support your child.
Home learning – We will be adding activities to Tapestry that you can do at home with your child. There will be a Forest school activity set on a Wednesday and you can join us on a
Monday at 11.40am; Wednesday at 2:45pm and Thursday at 11:40am for 15 minutes with a story and singing. If you would like to join us, could you please email us so that we can send an invite, this will be via zoom. We hope you can join us. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you need any support, ideas or just a chat we are always available.
A few Important Reminders:
Water Bottles: Please remember to fill your child’s water bottle each morning, it is not the responsibility of the staff, we are extremely busy. We are happy to refill bottles during the day when your child has finished and it needs refilling.
Clothing: Please ensure your child has suitable clothing now the weather is extremely cold; hat, gloves, scarf and a warm coat. Please make sure all items are named, it is very difficult to match items to the children. Thank you.
Face Coverings: Thank you for everyone who has worn a face covering, this is just a polite reminder, please can you wear one when you enter the John Clare school premises.
Monthly Makaton Sign – We are going to have a monthly Makaton sign to learn. Here is our top tip .. Remember to sign and say the word together. Go slow and show. This month we are going to learn: Play
Sound of the Week – Our sound of the Week will be ‘s’. We will use resources from the playhouse as we are not yet able to accept items from home.
Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week we will be playing with ice and looking at winter. We will be making bird feeders and we will be creating our feeling tree. We will be making pizza’s too!
