Playhouse Activities This Week – This week the children have continued to enjoy the story of the Three Little Pigs and The Gingerbread Man. We have had lots of activities around both stories this week. The children have made gingerbread men too! We have our Christmas books out and we have been making baubles.
Forest School – This week we have read Betty the Yeti and we have talked about the cold weather. We have explored the signs by looking at frost and ice drops on moss. We made clay Yeti’s. We’ve looked at different textures and patterns and have also finished our Autumnal Leaf wreaths.
Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week we will start our Christmas activities and we will be practising for our Christmas carols.
Reminder: Christmas Carols – These will be on the 16th December 10:00 via Zoom. If you would like to join us virtually please let us know by email by the 9th December 2020.
Sound of the Week – Our sound of the Week will be ‘p’. We will use resources from the playhouse as we are not yet able to accept items from home.
Playhouse Parents What’s App Group – Our Committee would like to set up a ‘What’s App Group’ for Preschool parents. This group chat will be looked after by Emily Carter and it is intended to keep you up to date and to create a community of support for all our Preschool Parents. This group is optional. If you would like to be included, please message Emily via What’s App on 07725 178680.
Literacy Trust – Lisa is our local Literacy Trust Ambassador, and she has been in contact with us this week. She would like to know your thoughts on the Literacy bags, workbooks and to see how you are getting on. Please let us know and we can pass on your comments. Here are a few ideas for home: Could you and your child write a Christmas list or a letter to Santa together or maybe your child could make their own.
Preschool Christmas Party – Our Christmas Party will be held on Friday 18th December from 12.00 – 2.15pm. We will have activities, games, and a few festive treats. If your child does not normally attend on a Friday afternoon and you would like him/her to attend the Christmas Party please feel free to book them in for that session, please just send us an email.
Christmas Tree Photo’s – We would love to see your decorated Christmas trees. Please can you email us a photo, it would be lovely for the children to see them.
Christmas Cards – We are trying to do as mush as we can to continue with our Christmas celebrations. We will open our Christmas post box ready to accept Christmas cards. The post box will close on 11th December and we will keep the cards for 72 hours before we hand them out. Please look out for a list of children’s names to help you on your way!
