Dear Parents / Carers
AGM – We would like to invite you to our AGM on Tuesday 27th September at 7.00pm at the Playhouse. We look forward to seeing you.
Committee – Would you like to join our committee? We are always looking for new members, but we do have a vacancy for our Treasurer role. Please contact our Chair, Pip Power if you are interested.
This Week – We’ve had lots of fun with playdough this week making cupcakes and cutting out shapes. We’ve also been junk modelling and have been playing in the garden using our outdoor resources.
Monday – Den Building & Construction – This week the children have had lots of fun making their very own fossils. The fossils were made from clay and designs created from leaves, footprints, stones, and resources from the garden.
Tuesday – Science Society – We made paper spider sliders as we investigated friction this week. After cutting out spider shapes we attached a stick and thread to the back. If the thread was pulled taut the spider slid down, as it touched the stick it caused friction which prevented the spider sliding further.
Wednesday – Animation – This week our animators continued to master the animation process. The children created their very own water park with swimming pools, slides and a hot tub. Due to unforseen circumstances their film didn’t make it through to be ‘saved’ for your viewing. Fingers crossed for next week!
Thursday – Craft Club – We painted bubble wrap orange and green and then gently pressed shaped card on top to give the effect of corn kernels and peas. We finished by adding leaves to make corn on the cob and sticking our green peas onto a slightly larger piece of card to make peas in a pod.
Friday – Baking – Today we will be making savoury muffin pizzas. We’ll be using half a breakfast muffin as our pizza base, and we’ll add our favourite toppings.

Next Week – Here are some of our planned activities for next week in the OOSC.
Tuesday – Science Society – We will be attempting to create rainbow patterns on black paper.
Wednesday – Animation – The children have asked if they can recreate and extend on their water park theme for next week.
Thursday – Craft Club & KS2 Gaming – We will be using wool, twigs and resources from the garden to make an autumn loom.
Friday – Baking – We will be making a warming potato bake; we will peel and slice potatoes and then we will arrange them into a dish with layers of cream and cheese.
