COVID – If your child or a family member tests positive for COVID via an LFD or PCR, please can you let us know. We are seeing coughs and colds turning positive COVID too; if your child is unwell or showing any signs of a new cough or cold, please be mindful that it could be COVID, test if you wish and keep them at home. Thank you for your help!
Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have been looking at healthy foods and how they are good for us. The children have made fruit kebabs using a selection of fruits; pineapple, kiwi, strawberries and orange. We have planted some more sunflowers and we already have some starting to sprout.
Forest School – In Forest School this week we read The Very Hungry Caterpillar and talked about healthy food. The children painted wood for their caterpillars and there were lots of conversations about the different types of caterpillars; green, brown, hairy, and spikey ones! After creating holes in some leaves, they threaded them onto some pipe cleaners to make decorations. We continued to watch the mummy and daddy robin feed their babies in our garden.
The Gruffalo – The Gruffalo theatre trip was amazing, thank you to everyone who joined us. We had a fabulous time. The children haven’t stopped talking about it; they loved the singing and dancing. This amazing picture of the Gruffalo has been drawn by Eleanor.
Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week we are going to learn about recycling and caring for our environment. We will learn about why we recycle and what we can do at home.
Sun Cream & Sun Hats – With the weather warming up, it’s time for sun cream and sun hats! Please can you apply sun cream to your child before Preschool. If needed, we will apply more at lunch time. Please ensure your child has sun cream and a sun hat in their bag (both named). Due to allergies and sensitive skin, we are unable to apply cream that is not supplied by you. Thank you.
School Ready – For those children moving onto Primary school in September we will be sending home some more ideas on supporting your child to be school ready.
Committee – Platinum Jubilee – Sweetie Tombola – Please can you donate a bag (or 2!) of individually wrapped sweets, such as Haribo or Maoam, by Monday 23rd May 2022. Every penny raised will go to our fundraising aim for this year, which is to buy a new outdoor playframe for our children. Thank you.
Mental Health Week – This week is Mental Health Week and the theme this year is loneliness. Feeling lonely is something we can all experience at any point in our lives. It can make us feel isolated and have a negative impact on our wellbeing.
