Dear Parents / Carers
Playhouse Activities This Week – This week there have been a variety of activities; we’ve been making Diva pots and rangoli patterns to help us celebrate Diwali. We’ve also talked about this Hindu festival. We’ve had lots of Superhero action and lots of superheroes visiting the Playhouse! We’ve been learning all about fire safety and then enjoyed hot chocolate, marshmallows and cream around the camp fire .. there were lots of chocolate moustaches!!
Forest School – In Forest School this week we read The Night Dragon. We have been talking about fire safety. On Wednesday the children explored fiery colours by mixing teas and herbs, then painted branches. The children used the fire pit for role play as we learnt about being safe. Today, we had a real fire and drank the most amazing hot chocolate! It was yummy!
Playhouse Activities Next Week – We have a visit from Zoolab on Wednesday and the children will be able to get ‘hands on’ with the animals, we’ll be learning lots of new animal facts! We’ll have a vet theme and we’ll be talking about caring for animals and endangered animals in the wild. In Forest school, we’ll be creating a hedgehog house ready for hibernation; we also have our parent sessions if you’re booked in.
Home activity – This week’s home activity is called “getting dressed”, it’s all about building on independence! On Tapestry there’s a useful document for top tips! Please let us know how your child gets on, we would love to celebrate their achievement for our wow tree! We can celebrate putting on their own shoe, sock, or clothes! Or any task at all … no matter how big or small it is!
Halloween Photos – Thank you for sharing all your Halloween photos … the children have really enjoyed sharing them with us and their friends.
Toddler Group – Halloween Party – The Halloween Party held by the Toddler group was a great success. The children’s costumes were amazing. Thank you to all those who attended, we hope you had a fantastic time!!
Children in Need – On Friday 19th November 2021, we will be celebrating Children in Need and we’ll be talking to the children about raising money. We’ll have lots of Pudsey activities! Your child is welcome to wear something spotty for a small donation to this great charity.
Any help? – Please do not hesitate to speak to staff if you have any concerns or would just like a catch up, we are always available.
Nearly New Sale – Don’t forget to contact Rachel Higginbotham or Alexa Hall if you are interested in their Nearly New Sale being held on 13th November.
Firework Safety – With many organised Firework displays cancelled again this year, many families will be going it alone at home. Do you know how to buy fireworks safely and avoid unlicensed sellers? Do you know what precautions to take to avoid a serious accident? What would you do if the worst happened? If you would like any help or guidance, please visit the Child Accident Prevention Trust website: Firework Safety | Home | Child Accident Prevention Trust (capt.org.uk)
Have a lovely weekend and stay safe!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
