Dear Parents / Carers

Happy New Year and welcome to 2017!

Please find below this week’s Weekly Update!

Letter of the Week – Our chosen letter for our next session will be ‘g’. Please can your child bring in an item which has a ‘g’!

Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have been settling back into our routines here at the Playhouse. We’ve been talking about our Christmas and New Year celebrations. We’ve been enjoying lots of role play, including a shop and we’ve been very creative with different activities including mark making.

Playhouse Activities Next Sessions – Next week we will start to learn about hibernation and we’ll make hedgehogs out of salt dough. We’ll be looking at our environment and we’ll have a shapes hunt. We’ll create a cave and we will also build a large nest. We will play number games.

Basic concepts – We will be sending out a letter to you over the next few days about basic concepts. This is to support and develop your child’s understanding of certain words and will help your child perform everyday tasks. This will also help you as parents as you can use these words in everyday conversations.

A new arrival – Freddie the Teddie has arrived back in the Playhouse after a wonderful Christmas break to be greeted by his cousin Eddie. Eddie has migrated to us from Spain and is looking forward to spending time with Freddie and the children in the Playhouse… who knows what they will get up too!

Have a lovely weekend!

Kind regards

The Playhouse Team
