Dear Parents / Carers

Please find below this week’s Weekly Update!

Letter of the Week – Our chosen letter for our next session will be ‘o’. Please can your child bring in an item which has a ‘o’!

Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we’ve been starting to learn about hibernation and we’ve made some fantastic hedgehogs out of salt dough, we’ll paint these next week. We’ve also created a cave for ‘Eddie the Teddie’ and the children have been helping him to hibernate. We’ve also had lots of fun cutting and we’ve been playing parachute games. We also had a treat and had some hot chocolate on those cold days.

Playhouse Activities Next Sessions – We will continue with hibernation and we’ll look at hedgehogs, what they like to eat and why they curl into a ball! We will base our activities around the story ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ and we’ll re-enact the story! We postponed our environmental shapes hunt this week due to the weather but, we’ll plan to do this next week along with creating rabbits and rabbit burrows.

Can you help? – Do you have an old photograph frame, 6×4, if you do, please can you bring it in for a planned activity with your children! It really doesn’t matter what it looks like! Thank you. We are also in need of newspapers and yogurt pots.

Thank you – A big Thank you to the families in the village who attended a party at the Village Hall on New Year’s Eve, they raised money for the Playhouse, John Clare Primary and the Toddler Group.

Save the Date – On April 1st we will be holding our Easter Fayre, please save the date!

Doors & Gate – Please can you make sure the Playhouse door and the gate are closed, the gate needs to ‘click’…the gusty winds have caused both the door and gate to fly open on a number of occasions! Many thanks for your assistance!

Have a lovely weekend!

Kind regards

The Playhouse Team
