Dear Parents / Carers

COVID – If your child or a family member tests positive for COVID via an LFD or PCR, please can you let us know. We are seeing coughs and colds turning positive COVID too; if your child is unwell or showing any signs of a new cough or cold, please be mindful that it could be COVID, test if you wish and keep them at home. Thank you for your help!

Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have learnt about the turtle and puffer fish. There has been lots of water play to cool us down. Number bingo has been super popular with great number recognition.  There has been shape hunting and we’ve been watering the flowers and plants. We had some lovely conversation on caring for the sea animals and how the plastics are killing them.

Forest School – In Forest School this week we read Commotion in the Ocean. We talked about the different creatures, colours, sizes and where they live. The children explored the tray full of water, shells, animals, corks, boats, and discs. The children poured water down the pipes and rolled the corks. We created cork boats. The children tested to see if the different objects would float and sink. We then reused the water to give to the plants.

Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week we will be talking about the importance of taking care in the sun. We will also be looking at the different types of whales and sharks.

Children Leaving for Primary School – It’s that time of year where we are preparing everything for your child’s transition to school. We will be writing Transition Reports for your child’s new school; This report will be given to you during next week, please can you complete the ‘parent/carer’ section and return to us within a couple of days.

Your child’s Tapestry will be available to download on the 11th July 2022. If the school your child is attending uses Tapestry, this will be transferred over to them after 11th July. If you have any problems downloading your child’s Tapestry, please get in touch as soon as possible so that we can help you before the deadline. Your child’s Tapestry will be deactivated in September, so please make sure you download it if you wish to keep it for your memories.

If your child is not normally in on a Friday and you have not confirmed already, please let us know if your child will be attending the End of Term Party, this will help with our end of term preparations. Thank you. Details of the party are detailed below.

Reminder: End of Term Party – Our End of Term Party is being held on Friday 22nd July 2022, from 12.00pm; we will be having a lunchtime picnic and games in the garden. There will be no hot lunches or packed lunches on this day … we will be asking for you to provide some party food and we will be in touch nearer the time. For our Leavers Parents, please can you join us at 1.45pm for some cake and to say our farewells. If your child is not normally in on a Friday afternoon, we would love them to join us for the party, please contact Sam to book your child’s afternoon session by Monday 20th June 2022.

Sun Safe – We know that we keep talking about being safe in the sun, but it is essential that your child has sunscreen applied before they attend Preschool. We will re-apply after lunch. Please ensure your child has their sunscreen in their bag, we are not permitted to share sunscreen in case of allergies/sensitive skin etc. Please can you ensure that your child also has a sun hat to prevent headaches and UV rays affecting them. Thank you. We’ve also attached a booklet for you to have a look at; Sun Safe – Why we need to cover up, it has lots of great information!

Reminder: Extra Sessions – If there is a possibility that you will need any extra sessions for your child this term, please can you contact Sam by Monday 20th June 2022 to check availability. Many thanks.
