Dear Parents / Carers
Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have finished baking some yummy shortbreads! The children have really enjoyed playing with our super amazing new dolls house and farmyard set from Percy! Thank you so much for donating this to us! We have enjoyed physical play with our tunnel, sensory stepping stones and our amazing new balance boards!!
Forest School – In Forest school this week we read a book all about autumn. We reminded ourselves of the autumnal changes within the environment. We talked about leaves, colours, and conkers. The children worked together tipping the tray to make the conkers roll through the paint splats. They extended the activity by adding leaves to make patterns and sticks to mix the colours. Fabulous autumn pictures!
Playhouse Activities Next Week – Please ensure your child brings in a coat as it’s becoming colder! Next week our Topic book will be Goldie Locks & the Three Bears! We will look at sizes and repeated phrases from within the story!
Home activity – This week’s activity is baking shortbread. Over the last couple of weeks most of the children have baked shortbread with us. We hope they enjoy the experience baking at home with you. The recipe is available on Tapestry .. Happy baking! Please don’t forget to share your experiences and any pictures!
Cough, Colds & COVID – With an increase in coughs, colds please consider COVID-19 and take your child for a PCR test. We have seen COVID displaying cold symptoms and not just a continuous cough. Thank you for helping keep our setting and your families safe.

World Mental Health Day – World Mental Health Day is on Sunday 10th October and Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) has launched the Better Health-Every Mind Matters campaign to support the nation’s mental wellbeing. The campaign heroes the little things we can all do to look after our mental wellbeing and how they can make a big difference; helping us to lead happier, healthier lives and cope with life’s challenges.
At the heart of the campaign is the free, NHS endorsed Mind Plan quiz. By answering five simple questions, you will get a personalised mental health action plan with simple, practical tips to help you deal with stress and anxiety, boost your mood, sleep better and show ‘there are little things we can all do to look after our mental health’. If you don’t want to have a go at the Quiz, go the Home page, it’s full of useful advice and help for all ages.
