Dear Parents / Carers
Welcome back it is fantastic to see everyone. We hope you all had a lovely summer.
Playhouse Activities This Week – The children have settled back so quickly. At the beginning of the week there was lots of water play, helping to keep us cool.
Love to Dance – Poppy will be joining us on Friday mornings for ‘Dance’, this was great fun last term!
Forest School – This will be held on a Monday and Wednesday every week.
Show & Tell – If your child would like to bring a toy in to show us or just for comfort, please bring one in (not too large, please!).
Library & Communication Books – We have brought back Communication and Library books. Please bring in the Communication book to every session, this is a great way to pass on information; for example, Grandparents or carers are picking up, or your child has not slept well. The library book can be changed as often as your child would like.
Forest School – This week we read ‘The Tell me Tree’ and we talked about our emotions. The children told us they were happy and excited to be back at Preschool. We played lots of fun games. We played with ice boats, we made conker patterns, blew bubbles, used conkers, cones and pipes. We finished by singing ‘If you are happy & You know it’.
Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week we will be making sandwiches, this is great for independence and fine motor control. We will also be sewing some winter vegetables.
Hot Lunches – We have received confirmation from John Clare that they are now able to provide a jacket potato as an alternative option at lunch times. If you would like to order a jacket potato, please contact Sam by 9.30am on a Monday morning. The jacket potato is normally served with spread and cheese, if there are beans on the menu they might be included too!
Reminders – Here are a few polite but very important reminders:
We are a Nut Free Setting – Please do not bring any nuts or nut related products into the Playhouse.
John Clare Staff Car Park – Parents / Grandparents can use the car park from 7.30am – 8.00am and then after 4.00pm. You can use the car park anytime if you are permitted to use a disabled parking space. Please be mindful that school staff will be using the car park during these hours. Thank you.
Term dates & Playhouse Opening – We’ve attached the John Clare school Term Dates for 2021 – 2022 for your information. We are closed when John Clare is closed for students; for example, Staff Training days and when school is closed due to severe weather.
Update from our Committee – AGM – Please see the attached flyer from our committee. We have a few vacancies and an upcoming AGM!
Staff Updates – Rosanna has joined our team; she’s already met some of your children and is settling in well to the Playhouse.
