Dear Parents / Carers
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Testing for COVID – If your child goes for a COVID test, please don’t forget to let us know.
Here is a link to the latest guidance from the Government, just in case you need it: National lockdown: Stay at Home – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

This Week – We have had a very busy week in the OOSC. Our campfire theme started on Monday using handprints and twigs to create fire pictures. On Thursday we made a fire in our outdoor area where we melted marshmallows to make s’mores. They were delicious and we all enjoyed warming ourselves safely around the fire.

At the children’s request they made their own playdough and then used it to make some amazing models. Another request was to create a safari scene; the children did this using toy animals and cars and plants from the garden. We have also made rainbow patterns magically appear on black paper – they looked really pretty! In our outdoor area, we started work on the den with the children helping out.

If you are currently clearing your garden and have any long twigs, please let us know, we would love to have them for our den building.

Next Week –
Next week we are planning to do crafts with plastic milk bottles. If you have a spare milk bottle, please bring it in. We will also be doing some stem activities.

Can you Help? Fundraising Matching Schemes – This is a really difficult time for all charities as we can’t carry our out normal fundraising events but, we are thinking about what we can do at this time.  Does your employer take part in a Fundraising matching scheme? If they do and you are happy to approach your manager, boss, team leader, please can you get in touch with us, we would love to hear from you.

Springtime Fun Activities – It’s not too late to register for our Springtime Fun Activities. If you would like your child to join in, please let us know and make your payment into our bank account with the Reference: Fun (surname).

Have a lovely weekend! Stay safe and well!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
