Dear Parents / Carers
Please find below this week’s Weekly Update!
Letter of the Week – Our chosen letter for our next session is ‘p’! Please can your child bring in an item which has a ‘p’.
Makaton – Our chosen sign will be ‘book’.
Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have been making crowns for our triangle association and we made mobile phones for rectangles and squares. Unfortunately, we were unable to make bread rolls so we will make them next week. We have been looking at numbers. We have also been practising our scissor skills cutting cabbage. We had a visit from Richard of Tiny Tykes, this week he took the children ‘on a Bear hunt’. This week on the Library bus the children chose some new books and we read a story from their selection.
Forest School This Week – Today we read Monsters Love Colour and how the colours mix together. The children went on a colour hunt, they matched and sorted all the things they found in the garden .. texture, smells and colour. We made coloured tea using things we found including orange peel, cranberry and raspberry .. we didn’t drink it, we just smelt it!!
Playhouse Activities Next Session – Next week we will be planting our winter vegetables and we’ll be clearing out old crops. We will be shape matching and observing them in the environment. We will be thinking about our environment so please send in any clean junk modelling. We want to utilise everything as much as possible. Please can you save up your crisp packets as we will be collecting them. When we have a sufficient amount we will send them onto the council for recycling. Crisp packets cannot be recycled directly into your bins at the moment by Peterborough City Council but we have identified a way to recycle these for you.
Book Party – Just a reminder to take a look, there are some great books for Christmas!
Preschool Questionnaire – Thank you to all of you who kindly completed our Questionnaire. Attached to this week’s update is a summary of findings and our responses to any questions you’ve raised.
