What a lovely first full week back!

It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back and see the children settling into their routines again. We have spent lots of time reconnecting with friends, building confidence and helping everyone feel comfortable and settled through lots of fun, interactive games and activities.

Our sandpit has been filled to capacity, and it has certainly been popular! The children have enjoyed digging, scooping, filling and building together, developing their imagination, cooperation and physical skills as they play.

We have also been getting creative with watercolours on our Perspex paint board, exploring colours and experimenting with different ways of painting.

This week we have been learning new nursery rhymes and ring games, as well as enjoying lots of fun with our parachute games. These activities have been a lovely way to encourage listening, turn-taking, movement and working together as a group.

Looking Ahead to Next Week

Next week, we will be building on our fine motor skills through a practical sandwich-making activity.
The children will have the opportunity to practise spreading, cutting and wrapping their own sandwich before taking it home to enjoy.
We will be encouraging the children to develop independence while also talking about food, hygiene and healthy choices.

We will be reading The Billy Goats Gruff and bringing the story to life through role play and re-enacting the characters and events. We are looking forward to seeing where the children’s imaginations take them!

Out in the garden, we will be planting bulbs and exploring our natural environment. We will also be collecting seeds from the poppy heads and sunflowers, ready to plant and grow in the future.

Sound/ Letter of the Week: ‘B/b’

Preschool Opening – We will open the gate at 8.55am and again at 3.10pm, if you could please help us by dropping off and picking up at these times. Please be patient, drop off and pick up times can be busy. Please be aware that some children may be joining us for our Breakfast club between 8.30am and 8.45am so may not be jumping the queue.

It has been a lovely start to the new term. We hope you have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to seeing you all next week!
