PRESCHOOL NEWSLETTER – 6th March 2026

 Dear Parents & Carers

What a fun and busy week we’ve had at pre-school!

Looking at the Full Moon

We have been talking about the full moon and noticing how it appears in the sky. The children had lots of interesting ideas and enjoyed sharing what they know about the moon.

Traffic Lights in the Garden

In the garden we played with our traffic light game, practising red, yellow and green. The children showed a fantastic understanding of when to stop and when to go, and it was great fun watching them zoom and freeze!

The Three Little Pigs

Inside, we had lots of giggles re‑enacting The Three Little Pigs using puppets. The children loved acting out the story and joining in with the famous “I’ll huff and I’ll puff!” moments.

Musical Instruments

We have been experimenting with musical instruments and practising our listening skills. The children listened carefully to different sounds and explored how loud, quiet, fast and slow music can be.

Makaton Signs of the Week

Our Makaton signs this week have been “nappy” and “toilet.” The children are doing a brilliant job learning them and beginning to use them during their daily routine.

Building Bird Nests

We had a lovely outdoor activity where we made our own bird nests. The children went on a hunt for sticks of different sizes and worked together to weave them. We soon realised how hard birds must work to build their homes!

Ring Games and Laughter

We also enjoyed some ring games, which created lots

of laughter and very funny moments as the children played together.

World Book Day

A big thank you to everyone who took part in World Book Day! It was wonderful seeing the children share their favourite stories. It is so lovely to hear them talking about books and developing a love of reading at such an early age.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Best wishes,
The Preschool Team
