Preschool Weekly Update – EYFS – 9th January 2026

By January 9, 2026Uncategorized

Welcome Back & Happy New Year!
We hope you all managed to enjoy a restful and happy break. It has been wonderful welcoming the children back this week and hearing all about their holidays.

This Week at Preschool

We have been making the most of the snowy weather and the children have loved:

• Fun ring games with their friends

• Feeding the birds and learning how to care for our environment

• Creating delicious ‘meals’ in our mud kitchen

Learning This Term (EYFS)

Different emotions and feelings

Over the coming weeks we will be exploring:

How to care for our teeth and keep them healthy

Building friendships, confidence and independence

Clothing & Belongings Reminder
Please could you ensure that all hats, gloves and scarves are clearly labelled. Mornings can be very hectic, and items can easily get mixed up when children are getting changed. Waterproof outfits would also be greatly appreciated, especially with the winter weather

Important Information
Please remember to let us know if your child has not slept well, as this can have a big impact on their mood, behaviour and overall wellbeing. By sharing this information with us, we can offer extra reassurance, adapt activities where needed and ensure we are meeting your child’s individual needs throughout the day.

Please also inform us if your child is not feeling 100% or has had Calpol or any other medication. This helps us to closely monitor how they are feeling, provide appropriate care and support, and respond quickly if they need extra comfort, rest or adjustments to their day.

Bags & Peg Space
Due to the size of our cloakroom, we kindly ask that children bring a small backpack or string bag. This helps coats and bags fit comfortably on the pegs.

Pick up Time Reminder
Just a gentle reminder that our preschool sessions finish at 3:15pm from Monday to Thursday and 2:15pm on Fridays. We kindly ask that children are collected promptly at these times. We completely understand that the occasional delay can happen – if you think you may be running late, please give us a call as soon as possible so we can reassure your child.

Thank you for your continued support.

Have a lovely weekend!
Best wishes,
The Preschool Team
