Our adventures at the Playhouse this week…
This week we have been reading Little Red Hen. We learnt about flour; where it comes from and how it is made. We made some bread rolls and learnt how to knead the dough.
The children have been using some great manners and we will continue with this next week. The children have been enjoying obstacle courses, making shape arrangements with ‘Tap a Shape’ and turn taking with ‘Jungle Heads & Tails’. We have also seen some lovely self-portraits on the chalk board.
Things we will be doing….
Next week we will be building on objects by ordering and sequencing sizes, building on
recognition of little, medium, and big. We will be extending the children’s
understanding of sizes and mathematical language; using the weighing scales to
explore different concepts such as heavy and light!
We will explore a variety of fine motor
activities such as cutting, threading, pencil control, and much more! We will
be creating our own bookmarks!

Being Polite & Using Good Manners!
In the Playhouse we are working with the children on being polite and using good manners. Please can you extend this initiative at home and encourage your children to use ‘please’ and ‘thank you’
