Dear Parents / Carers
COVID – If your child or a family member tests positive for COVID via an LFD or PCR, please can you let us know. We are seeing coughs and colds turning positive COVID too; if your child is unwell or showing any signs of a new cough or cold, please be mindful that it could be COVID, test if you wish and keep them at home. Thank you for your help!
Playhouse Activities This Week – We have been very excited this week as we have been learning about the ladybird lifecycle recently and we have finally seen some larva’s and pupas in our garden .. found by Elia! They were found in one of our herb planters, the children were amazed. They also knew that they would turn into ladybirds! The large teeth have been very popular, and the children have been practising their brushing. We’ve been talking about why we need to brush and how often and we’ve been learning about healthy foods to eat.
Forest School – In Forest School this week we read Animal Magic about stones that were painted as animals that came to life. The children coloured in some sticks and stones as animals and then played with them in our new tree house. The children also sorted and matched the ladybird stones to their numbers. Great teamwork, creativity, imagination, and problem solving.
Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week we will have lots of activities for the Queens Jubilee. We also have our promotional video being filmed on Thursday.
Reminder: Sun Cream & Sun Hat – We know mornings are extremely busy, but we would be grateful if you could apply sunscreen in the morning. We will apply more at lunch time. Please can you also bring in a sun hat. Thank you.
Teddy Bears Picnic – We would love you to join us for our ‘Teddy Bears Picnic’ on Wednesday 8th June 9.00am – 10.30am. Come and join us for a play, a chat, and a coffee. You can join in with our Forest school or you can get messy with the Playdough, it’s a great way to sample some of your child’s day at Preschool. Even if it isn’t your child’s normal day, please feel free to come along. Please let us know of you can join us by dropping us an email by Friday 27th May 2022.
Scarlet Fever, Chicken Pox & Streptococcal – We have been advised by our early years Team that the UK Health Security Agency has seen elevated levels of Scarlet Fever, Chicken pox and Streptococcal infections. Group A Streptococcus is a bacterium which can colonise the throat, skin and anogenital tract. It causes a diverse range of infections, such as: tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and pneumonia.
Being Safe – With the warm weather, be water safe and watch your child when using your paddling pools. Don’t forget to empty them when it’s not in use. We’ve attached a ‘Watch Out in Water’ factsheet for your information.
Reminder: Change in Circumstances – If any of your personal or family circumstances change, please don’t hesitate to let us know so that we can help and support your child.
Reminder: Committee – Platinum Jubilee – Sweetie Tombola – Please can you donate a bag (or 2!) of individually wrapped sweets, such as Haribo or Maoam, by Monday 23rd May 2022. Every penny raised will go to our fundraising aim for this year, which is to buy a new outdoor playframe for our children. Thank you.
Any help? – Please do not hesitate to speak to staff if you have any concerns or would just like a catch up, we are always available.
Have a lovely weekend!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
