Dear Parents / Carers
Please find below this week’s Weekly Update. We hope you are all keeping safe and well.
Hand washing – Making hand washing fun .. here is a song to encourage your child/ren to wash their hands and although this is aimed at younger children, you may find it useful to have a look. Here is the on line link just in case you can’t open the attachment. https://www.twinkl.co.uk/resource/t-tp-5351-this-is-the-way-we-wash-our-hands-song
Book of Hope – A number of children’s authors, including Michael Morpurgo have written a book called The Book of Hopes. It’s free to read online on the National Literacy Trust website. Later in the year the book will be published and the money raised will go to the NHS. https://literacytrust.org.uk/family-zone/9-12/book-hopes/
Nature Activities – Amanda has planned some fun outdoor activities for you to share with your child. This week the focus is on shapes, counting and comparing in the environment. There will be photos for your child to spot the shape, count the petals. You could go for a walk, play ‘I spy’ .. there are all sorts of recommendations. Please take a look!
Safety – Doctors are seeing an influx of children with burns linked to steam inhalation as parents incorrectly believe it helps cure Covid-19. Attached is a poster from The Child Accident Prevention Trust to raise awareness of this danger, alongside other burns risks during lockdown including hot drinks, bath water scalds and burns from cooking.
World Baking Day – Sunday is World Baking Day; we are sure lots of you have been baking lately. Enjoy baking at home with your child this weekend.
Keep an eye on Tapestry, we will be adding new activities on here for you to access! We would love to see and hear how you are all keeping, especially if you are talking part in any of our activities. If you would like us to cover anything in particular or need someone to talk to; please email us and we’ll do our best to help! Have a lovely weekend, stay safe and well!
Kind regards
