Dear Parents / Carers
This Week in the OOSC – This week we made scones and had these as part of our snack. The children all looked fabulous for World Book day, there were lots of lovely costumes.
Next Session in the OOSC – Next week we will be playing the ‘Tasting & Smelling Game’. The children will be smelling and tasting different foods and will be trying to identify them.
Competition Time – Some of the girls from the OOSC are currently running a competition. Please speak to your child to see if they would like to take part. Your child will need to draw their favourite book cover and write one fact about it. There will be a prize! Closing date is 14th March 2020.
Easter Fayre – Please look out for information about our Easter Fayre, any help is greatly appreciated from cakes, to Tombola prizes or help on the day.
Staff – Just a quick update on staffing; Amber is no longer with the Playhouse; Unfortunately, it did not work out in terms of commitment. We are actively looking for a new team member. We’ve attached our Job advert, please feel free to forward this to anyone who you think might be interested in joining us.
Quiz & Disco – Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Quiz & Disco, you helped raise an AMAZING £583.00.
Glandular Fever – One of the children in the OOSC has been diagnosed as having had Glandular fever during the last few months. Glandular fever mostly affects teenagers and young adults and gets better without treatment, but it can make you feel very ill and last for weeks. Here are some symptoms to look out for and a link to the NHS website for further guidance: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/glandular-fever/
- a severe sore throat
- swelling either side of your neck – swollen glands
- extreme tiredness or exhaustion
- tonsillitis that is not getting better
- a very high temperature or you feel hot and shivery
Head Lice – Head lice are very common in young children and their families. They do not have anything to do with dirty hair and are picked up by head-to-head contact. Just to make you aware there has been a case of head lice reported in Preschool, please can you check your child’s hair and where appropriate take the necessary action. Here is a link to the NHS website for more information and pictures of what to look out for https: //www.nhs.uk/conditions/head-lice-and-nits/
Have a lovely weekend!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
