Our adventures at the Playhouse this week…
This week the weather has been lovely, so we’ve spent lots of time outside enjoying the fresh air. We have been building with objects to order and sequence sizes, building on our recognition of little, medium, and big. We have extended the children’s understanding of sizes and mathematical language; we have used the weighing scales to explore different concepts such as heavy and light!
We have continued with cutting, threading and pencil control!
We have been reading the Three Billy Goats Gruff to tie in with our sizing activities. The children have loved having lots of puppet shows, they have been amazing with their sizing and recalling phrases from the story.
Things we will be doing next week ….
Next week we will we focus on Spring, we will have a spring hunt around the garden, looking for the signs of spring and different shoots popping up. We will be looking after our spring plants, and we’ll be watering our daffodils. We will paint some daffodil pictures too.
We will have lots of fresh air as we spend time gardening.
