Dear Parents / Carers
Treasurer Vacancy – Due to unforeseen circumstances we now have a vacancy for our Treasurer role. Do you know someone who could spare us an hour a month? We will not be able to operate with without this key role so please contact our Chair, Pip Power if you are interested.
Can you help? It’s that time of year when we start to think about Christmas. Do you have any old Christmas decorations, newspapers, and empty, clean jam jars with lids (any size). They are all very greatly received and will help us decorate the Playhouse for the festive season. Thank you.
Reminder: John Clare School Staff Car Park – Parents are not permitted to use the John Clare Staff Car Park between 8.00am and 4.00pm.
Reminder: Absence & Pick-ups – If your child is unable to attend any of our sessions, including Early Bird and/or Breakfast Club or there is a change to pick up, please make sure you let us know so that we can ensure the safety of your child. Please also update John Clare if your child is at Primary school.
This Week – We have had a busy week enjoying pumpkin carving, Lego building, firework playdough and the hairdressers role play. Later today, we’ll watch Fireman Sam at the Fireworks display to coincide with Bonfire night! Outside we’ve been busy making dens.
Monday – Craft Club – This week the children made pumpkins from blocks of wood. They designed and decorated them to put in their windows.
Tuesday – Science Society – Unfortunately our science activities were postponed this week due to last minute staff shortages.
Wednesday – Animation – Our animators used ice to make their own movies this week.
Wednesday – Cinema Club – The children enjoyed watching Beauty & The Beast this week whilst snacking on their popcorn.
Thursday – Forest school & Den building – Alongside our den building this week some of the children used natural resources from the garden to make ‘nature’ faces!
Friday – Baking – Later today we will be making Bonfire cakes.

Next week – Here are some of our planned activities for next week in the OOSC.
Monday – Craft Club – We will be using tights, sawdust and grass seed to make grass men and/ or hedgehogs.
Tuesday – Science Society and KS2 Gaming – In our science session we will be 3d printing. We will use sand and glue … no printer required.
Wednesday – Animation & Cinema Club – In our movie club, we have lots of movies; the children will choose the movie on Wednesday.
Thursday – Forest school & Den Building – The children will be making ‘Autumn Wreaths’ using natural resources from the garden.
Friday – Cookery club – The children will be making a snack to bring home and bake; they will be making their own salsa and will be making a nacho bake with grated cheese.
