This Week – This week we’ve had lots of construction resources out to play with and role play has again been popular with vets, hospital and an ice cream parlour being requested and set up by the children. The pool table has been out every day and the children made some snowy playdough. When the weather allowed, we played outside in the garden.
Monday – Craft Club – We used glue to make our templates, added salt and then dripped paint over the templates to create beautiful, textured art this week.
Tuesday – Science Society – This week we used skittles and M&Ms to look at colour diffusion. After arranging the sweets around the plate we added warm water and watched the rainbow patterns appear as the colour came out from the sweets.
Wednesday – Animation – Anya used the skills she had learned the previous week to make an amazing film with underwater creatures.
Wednesday – Cinema Club – The children enjoyed watching Superpets whilst enjoying their popcorn.
Thursday – Forest school & Den building – The rain kept us indoors this week. The children spent their time busy with other activities and making their hot chocolate with marshmallows.
Friday – Baking – Later today we will be making indulgent chocolate brownies from cocoa powder to create yummy chocolate fudge brownies.

Next week – Here are some of our planned activities for next week in the OOSC.
Monday – Craft Club – We will be starting our Christmas craft and we will be making wooden decorations.
Tuesday – Science Society – In our science session we will be using candy canes to make a marble run.
Wednesday – Animation & Cinema Club – In our movie club, the children will be watching Elf! Our animators will decide what they would like to use for their film making.
Thursday – Forest school & Den Building and KS2 Gaming – The children will be carrying out some forest school activities, they will be cutting wood and using their woodworking skills to make their very own Santa. A lovely keepsake.
Friday – Cookery club – We will be making reindeer faces to stay with our festive theme. We will be using cake and chocolate to create our reindeer head (like a cake pop) and we will be adding pretzels and sweets to make our reindeer face come to life.
Have a lovely weekend!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
