Dear Parents / Carers
Reminder: Committee – Raffle Prizes – It’s that time of year when we are starting to organise our Xmas raffle. If anyone is willing to donate a prize or knows of any business that might like to donate a prize, then please get in touch. We are currently fundraising for ‘experiences’, such as trips out for our preschool children’ and extra resources for our OOSC.
Reminder: John Clare School Staff Car Park – Parents are not permitted to use the John Clare Staff Car Park between 8.00am and 4.00pm.
Reminder: Absence & Pick-ups – If your child is unable to attend any of our sessions, including Early Bird and/or Breakfast Club or there is a change to pick up, please make sure you let us know so that we can ensure the safety of your child. Please also update John Clare if your child is at Primary school.
This Week – The children are really having fun playing table tennis, the table has been out in Breakfast club and the OOSC this week. There has been lots of junk modelling with some amazing structures being created. We’ve spent plenty of time enjoying the garden, football and the trikes continue to be very popular. Today we have been celebrating Diwali, the children have been making rangoli patterns. There will be henna tattoos and Indian cuisine to try later in the OOSC. We have also been celebrating Halloween, making Halloween decorations and our wonderfully spooky display!
Monday – Den Building & Construction – This week the children made one large den using long sticks from the garden. They constructed their den between the house and the forest school area. Smaller twigs made their roof. The children used blankets to make it cosy and with-it being Halloween they used a black blanket as their entrance to create a dark and spooky atmosphere.
Tuesday – Science Society – We made a didgeridoo to make sounds using a large cardboard tube. Everyone had great fun even though the results weren’t always perfect!
Wednesday – Animation – Our animators will be using playdough to make their very own monster movie later today.
Thursday – Craft Club – We will be using beads to make necklaces, bracelets, and bag charms. Some of the children will be getting ready for their Halloween party.
