Dear Parents / Carers
COVID – If your child or a family member tests positive for COVID via an LFD or PCR, please can you let us know. Thank you.
This Week – It was a great start to the new term and our new outdoor clubs with the lovely sunny weather this week. We hope the good weather continues as we hope to be outside as much as possible enjoying football, Swingball, scooters, hoops, stilts, construction, and our large garden games.
Wednesday – Gardening & Forest School – We planted our runner beans in jars this week which the children brought home. The children enjoyed decorating their jars and then they added their soil and seeds; they should soon start to grow. We also spent time preparing our borders, we planted runner beans and sweet peas. We will care for these over the coming weeks.
Thursday – Den Building – We had an Afternoon Tea & Coffee Shop theme. The children set out a beautiful table and served refreshments and cakes (created using playdough). A few of the children made a den at the bottom of the garden and had their refreshments delivered to their den.
Thursday – Craft Club – For our first craft club we made spring themed blossom tree pictures. The children used paint, scrunched up tissue paper (or both!) to create their blossom and then added either twigs or wool for their branches. The finished pictures looked very pretty.
Friday – Baking – This afternoon we will be making our own bread. There’ll be lots of mixing and shaping. The children can choose their own design.
Next Week – We will have a lot of outdoor activities and we’ll be making the most of our garden!
Monday – Woodwork & construction – We will be starting work on building bird boxes. The children will be sanding, gluing and nailing.
Tuesday – Science Society – We will be doing a couple of experiments looking at water forces. Prepare for your child to get wet!
Wednesday – Gardening & Forest School – We will be planting more vegetables to add to our garden and we’ll be keeping on top of the weeds.
Thursday – Den Building – The children have chosen a ‘Fairies’ and ‘Warriors’ theme with magic potions, hair garlands and bow & arrows.
Thursday – Craft Club – We will be weaving around a template to make a bowl. We will be using wool and other materials to shape and hold our bowl together.
Friday – Baking – We will be making rocky road cake using biscuits, chocolates, syrup, and marshmallows.
Outside activities all week: There will be connect 4, giant Duplo, the mud kitchen, construction vehicles, football, and Meccano.
Have a lovely weekend!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
