Dear Parents / Carers
COVID – If your child or a family member tests positive for COVID via an LFD or PCR, please can you let us know. We are seeing coughs and colds turning positive COVID too; if your child is unwell or showing any signs of a new cough or cold, please be mindful that it could be COVID, test if you wish and keep them at home. Thank you for your help!
Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we created some beautiful daffodils which are all unique and wonderful. With Spring upon us we have talked about new life and lambs. The children have planted cress which is a lovely plant to see grow very quickly. The big rollers came out this week as we were experimenting with colour mixing. The children mixed red and blue and were amazed that it turned to purple.
Forest School – In Forest School this week we have been looking at fruit. We talked about different varieties and what they need to grow. The children took turns to peel and chop the fruit, talking about safety and looking after their fingers. They put the fruit into a press and took turns to twist the lever. As the fruit squashed, the juice ran out. They all smelt the juice, and some even tried it. They gave it a thumbs up. They spooned the leftovers into a bowl for the bees and butterflies. We then talked about what summer fruit we could use for next time. They really enjoyed the process and drinking fruity juice in the sunshine!
Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week we will have a number egg hunt around the garden. We will decorate Easter Egg biscuits and we will be making an Easter wreath.
Drawstring Bags – Just a reminder that your child will need to have a drawstring bag after Easter to help with space in our cloakroom. Thank you.
Any help? – Please do not hesitate to speak to staff if you have any concerns or would just like a catch up, we are always available.
Easter Break – Just a reminder that Friday 1st April is the last day of the Spring Term. We will close for the Easter break, and we will re-open on Wednesday 20th April, in line with John Clare Primary. If you would like details of term dates, please contact Sam.
Have a lovely weekend!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
