Dear Parents / Carers

COVID Update:
Here is the link to the latest Government Guidance for Early Years settings: What parents and carers need to know about early years providers, schools and colleges during COVID-19 – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Playhouse Activities This Week –
This week we have been busy learning all about how to take care of our teeth, we shared how often we should brush our teeth, shared key words such as “cavities, sugar” and much more with the children! We have been role playing the dentist too! The children enjoyed using our large teeth model to practise teeth brushing with added shaving foam for super fun toothpaste  .
We have also been looking at the role of the post office and sharing all about how our letters travel from a to b! The children have enjoyed using clay and we’ve had lots of sewing activities too!

Forest SchoolIn Forest school this week we have been making bird food pizza and cake. The children used knives, safely and cut up apples. They also tore bread and scooped seed; counting and comparing sizes as they went. They created a pizza and we talked about the slices being in half and quarters. The children also had fun creating a layered cake. The children sat and watched to see if the birds would come. We had a pigeon on the fence and a robin on the tyre. How exciting!

Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week we are looking forward to baking cupcakes  . We will also have lots of activities about Chinese New Year   and we will share the Chinese New Year story!
We will be looking at the roles of our bin-men and litter pickers and what an important job they do. We will be talking about how we can take care of our environment!

Home activity – This week’s home activity is making a bear cave  . Please go onto Tapestry to see a great video of Emma who visited us from the National literacy trust a couple of weeks ago, this links on from last week’s activity called “Brown Bear Brown Bear”. We would love to see the bear caves you create… perhaps you could start with a story with a bear such as Brown Bear Brown Bear or We’re Going on a Bear Hunt! and then go on to make them a cave!

Literacy Visit – For those parents who attended Lisa’s literacy session, please can you drop us a quick email with any feedback so that we can share this with Lisa. Many thanks.

Any help? – Please do not hesitate to speak to staff if you have any concerns or would just like a catch up, we are always available.
Have a lovely weekend!

Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
