Playhouse Activities This Week – This week the children have enjoyed hospital role play at the Playhouse. Lucy was in the hospital feeling unwell and then to her surprise she was given CPR by Percy! We would like to let you know that she is ok ! Some of the children also enjoyed sewing and using ICT globe. On Friday, Lisa joined us today from the National Literacy Trust to read ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’. The children have props to join in to bring the story to life. We also looked at the sea monster that has been found in Rutland and we looked at animals that are extinct.
Forest School – In Forest school this week we explored sounds. In the tray there were metal bowls, wooden sticks, logs, conkers, spoons. The children explored how to make sound by banging, stirring, tapping and knocking different items together. They went on a sound hunt around the garden to see how things made a noise. They also explored the frost, making marks using sticks and then they decided to use their hands. Creating handprints. The children knew it was cold and the frost melted because of their warm hands. It has been great for exploring!
Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week we have our own Playhouse vets! We will be looking at winter animals and how to look after them in the winter months. We will be harvesting our crops in the garden, and we will be preparing the flower beds for the Spring.
Home activity – This week’s home activity is called ‘Under & Big – unusual places for mark making’. We hope you enjoy spending time drawing and mark making together. Perhaps you could find an interesting place such as under the table. There’s more information on Tapestry for you!
Nut Free – Just a reminder that we are a nut free setting, please avoid any nut related foods in your child’s packed lunch. Thank you. If you would like any further advice, please do not hesitate to let us know.
Any help? – Please do not hesitate to speak to staff if you have any concerns or would just like a catch up, we are always available.
Have a lovely weekend!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
