Dear Parents / Carers
This Week – We had a sensory theme in OOSC this week with lots of various activities. The children made and played with lavender playdough and we attempted to make our own slime with varying success! We had a ‘car wash’ with hot chocolate – not very clean but a lot of fun! The children had to find items hidden in ice and had a go at building 3D structures with spaghetti and marshmallows. Throughout the week we also tie-dyed socks which, when dry, the children will be bringing home. Thank you to Poppy for starting to decorate our tree!
Next Week – Next week our theme of the week will be ‘Christmas around the world’, we have lots of activities planned. Woodwork will be available all week.
Monday – We will be decorating the Christmas tree and the Playhouse with ivy, a tradition from Zimbabwe. There will be a post office role play and we’ll be making gingerbread men.
Tuesday – We will be conducting a magic milk experiment; we’ll be making dolly pegs in Christmas costumes from around the world. We have the board out ready to play and the post office role play.
Wednesday – We will be practicing our xmas wrapping techniques as we wrap boxes for our Christmas display. We will be decorating Christmas baubles. We will have chess and knex available.
Thursday – We will be starting our salt dough decorations so they will be ready to decorate the following week. We will also have a hairdresser, shoe shop and post office role play.
Friday – We will continue with our salt dough decorations and post office. We will have the wooden blocks out ready for construction building. We will be playing card games.
Outside activities all week: swing ball, scooters, darts, and an obstacle course. There will be connect 4, giant Duplo, the mud kitchen, construction vehicles and Meccano along with our role play tray.
