Dear Parents / Carers
IMPORTANT:
FACE COVERINGS – Unless you are exempt, there is still a requirement to wear a face covering when dropping off or collecting your child. This safety measure is in place to protect you, your family and our staff especially if we need to talk to you at the gate where social distancing cannot be maintained. Please can you advise any Grandparents that may be coming to the Playhouse on your behalf. Thank you for your help.

Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have been using the parachute, we’ve had running races and ball games. We had a number and shape hunt around the garden. Woodwork has been highly popular this term with many of the children eager to take part. For the next three Friday’s we will be having Poppy from Love to Dance, the children will learn a little dance and will play dance games. The birds have been so busy and loud, the children have loved listening to the sounds of birdsong. There has been lots of talk about the different birds; magpie, red kite, robins, and crows.
Forest School – In Forest School we read Minnie the Minnow and talked about how nice it is to be kind to our friends and all the fun things we do together, including parties. We decided to have our own tea party. The children shared and took turns with the kettles, jugs, and water. The children used their senses to smell the herbs and flowers. Some suggested their tea smelled like squash, blackberries, flowers, and toothpaste. Amazingly enough we had used camomile, berries, and peppermint herbal tea bags. The children poured and mixed in their extras; leaves and bark. They created the most amazing tea party!
Hot Lunches – Next week is Week 1 – Please remember to bring in a packed lunch on Tuesday for your child. Thank you.
Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week please could your child bring in their wellies. We have some giant paint rollers; it could get very messy. Old clothes are always recommended for messy play! We have a squirrel who keeps visiting the playhouse garden so next week we will make some squirrel cakes for him.
Monthly Makaton Sign – June’s Makaton sign which we are going to learn is ‘no/stop’. Please have a go at home, remember to sign and say the word together. Go slow and show.
