Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have continued to enjoy the sunshine, we have had lots of water play this week to keep the children cool. The children have been watering the flowers to keep them growing and we have been helping them understand the ‘growing’ process. We have been focusing on phonics games too! It was too hot this week for our picnic but, we will have one another day!
Forest School – In Forest School we read Herman’s Holiday and we talked about the different places we might like to visit on our holidays. We turned the forest school area into a campsite and built a tent. The children built their own campfire and toasted marshmallows. We talked about fire safety. We also took part in a colour treasure hunt.
Playhouse Activities Next Week – Next week is Healthy Eating week and we will talk about healthy eating and our teeth. We will also continue with phonics games and caring for our garden and insects.
Monthly Makaton Sign – June’s Makaton sign which we are going to learn is ‘no/stop’. Please have a go at home, remember to sign and say the word together. Go slow and show.
Sun Safe – We have received our Sun Safe Accreditation again this year. Please remember to apply sunscreen to your child each morning. We will reapply sunscreen after lunch. In extreme heat we will reduce the time the children spend outside, and we will encourage them to drink plenty, keeping them well hydrated.
