Dear Parents / Carers

This Week – At the children’s request we held The Great Helpston Bake Off this week in OOSC. On Monday, the children drew their cupcake designs and on Tuesday created posters to advertise the event. On Wednesday it was the bake off itself. The Playhouse was decorated to look like the bake off tent with bunting and cake stands and even a judge’s table. As the children decorated their cakes they were questioned about the inspiration for their designs and their baking skills. When everyone had finished they had to bring their cupcake to the table for judging.
We had the usual disasters of ingredients being dropped and things not going to plan (especially how to make icing). Everyone really enjoyed this event – please see the report written by Emily. On Thursday we made paper rockets and then went out into the garden to hold a rocket race to see whose travelled the furthest.
Throughout the week we have spent time outside enjoying the lovely weather. We used twigs and natural resources to create pictures in frames.
Next Week – Next week we will be cooking on the fire and making pretend fires too!
Have a lovely weekend! Stay safe and well!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
