Dear Parents / Carers
Please find below this week’s Weekly Update!
Letter of the Week – Our chosen letter for our next session is ‘o’! Please can your child bring in an item which has an ‘o’.
Makaton – We will have a rest next week and will start again in January.
Playhouse Activities This Week – This week we have made Gingerbread men and we will carry this over to next week to ensure all the children have a go! We have been shape and length ordering. Our role plays have been the Christmas post office and the Playhouse hairdressers. Thank you to everyone who joined us at Church. We sang carols and Rev Dave read about the Nativity .. our children were amazing at answering his questions. All the children behaved beautifully throughout the service.
Forest School This Week – This week Amanda wasn’t well enough to take the children out for Forest School.
Playhouse Activities Next Term – Next term we will be looking at Nursery rhymes and fairy tales.
Volunteer – We have a volunteer starting in January and she will be with us every Thursday. She is called Nancy; she is retired and was born in the village. She will have lots of stories to tell the children. She’s been popping in to see us and the children already remember her name!
Christmas Carols – If your child isn’t normally in on a Wednesday and are coming in for the Christmas Carols, it would be great if you could drop them off at 9.00am as we find they settle better. There will be a craft to make with your child and tea, coffee, mince pies and cake after the carols. We keep this very low key as we do not want to overwhelm the children. Dress code: Christmas jumper, t-shirt, anything Christmassy!
Key Groups – We have decided to create Key Groups for our children. Our key groups will be: Lucy – Sloths Rachel – Polar Bears Yvonne – Meerkats Amanda – Hedgehogs
Illness – If your child is not well please keep them at home, a lazy day on the sofa will work wonders .. we would also like to protect everyone in the Playhouse at such a busy time of year! Many thanks for your continued support!
Christmas Party Food – Your child should have brought home a little slip regarding Party food. If you cannot find it, please speak to Lucy. We are asking parents to help us by supplying an item of party food for our Christmas Party. Thank you.
Class Fundraising – Many thanks to all of you who supported the Playhouse through Class Fundraising, you raised an amazing £61.78! Thank you.
Safety Savvy Shopper – There are so many gifts to purchase now from Black Friday deals to online stores, we don’t always know they’re safe. There have been reports of exploding candles, gifts with button batteries, hazardous levels of chemicals in toys to laser pointers causing eye damage; there is a potential for serous accidents. Find out more about the simple steps you can take to become a safety savvy shopper this Christmas!
Have a lovely weekend!
Kind regards
The Playhouse Team
